The Role

This role is responsible for the delivery of multi-channel copy and high-performing content for our clients. You’ll have a solid understanding of content and will have either worked in a similar role at an agency or client side. 

The Lead Copywriter is a multi-skilled individual who is part strategist, copywriter, and conversion rate optimiser. In short, you ideate and create irresistible content that hooks audiences and author stellar copy that sells. 

Armed with a strong copy background, you’ll have experience in ideation, creating briefs, managing deadlines and deliverables, overseeing the copy function for multiple clients for a variety of different content formats. You’ll have strong leadership skills and be able to adapt to and deliver constructive feedback. 

This is a senior position for a results-oriented, creative individual, paired with an outstanding level of pragmatism and ability to turn those ideas into a reality.

Key Responsibilities

  • Developing messaging and copy briefs with the wider growth team and with clients
  • Editing copy for clarity, voice, specificity, credibility and style
  • Overseeing content creation work done internally and through external writers
  • Manage a busy content calendar for multiple clients as well as for agency marketing activities
  • Well-versed in SEO principles and experience writing for search engines
  • Working closely with client teams on campaigns to ensure that everything adheres to the appropriate tone of voice
  • Conducting copy audits and reviewing performance data to highlight actionable messaging opportunities
  • Conducting competitive and market research to identify audience  informational requirements and content gaps
  • Support in ideating strategically sound content marketing programmes and see through the entire process from concept to live campaign
  • Working closely with designers to produce high-quality digital marketing materials, sales collateral and interactive creative content
  • Taking part in client calls, Slack chats and meetings as required

About you

  • At least 5 years marketing experience with a strong basis in performance copywriting and content creation
  • Roll up your sleeves and help out all team members to get results for clients
  • Take a proactive approach to solving problems
  • Excellent communication skills, with the confidence to interact with a variety of stakeholders, both internally and externally
  • You have an entrepreneurial growth mindset and an insatiable thirst for professional development
  • Geek out on growth and copywriting – this is your passion, not just a job
  • Be comfortable with digital growth marketing, including CRO, ads, sales pages, email, social, mobile, UX and SEO
  • Have an eye for information design, including messaging hierarchies, and experience in wireframing
  • Exceptional writer. Craft clear and reasonable arguments using rhetorical devices, persuasive techniques and an understanding of human decision-making and the rules of influence
  • Good time management skills, with natural ability to prioritise and manage workload
  • Work fast + well in small teams and autonomously
  • Be tech savvy and adopt digital tools easily
  • Native English speaker
  • Degree or professional training in English, Marketing, Psychology or Journalism
